Organizational Development Plan Proposal – Mission at every Desk

Mission at Every Desk: First and foremost, we must operate together to advance our County Mission: “To provide effective services while fostering sustainable economic growth and protecting our quality of life.” Our mission provides the framework for goals and objectives. Our goals and objectives would provide context and structure, as the current strategic plan is set up. A fully fledged organizational development approach expands that structure to individuals and to teams.

Mission at Every Desk goals are to create:

  1. Quantifiable meaningful focus on success: In county government quantifiable success is not a simple. In a for profit business it is not so hard to identify a measure of success. What are the measures, in numbers, of success for county government? By focusing on mission we can identify measurable successes with meaning.
  2. A unifying organizational culture of pride: We would strive to create space and structure for meaningful positive feedback. By focusing staff feedback and development on success and individual achievement and tying it to mission we can build a culture of pride and connection.
  3. Improved mission delivery: We would strive to create environments that foster innovation and the pride that comes with it. By creating environments where individual contribution and innovation is valued and welcome and acted on when possible we create innovation and improved mission delivery.

  • Dear Clear Creek County Staff,

As we enter 2021, please take a moment to complete this brief, anonymous survey.  Your individual results will not be available to your supervisor or anyone else. Once the survey is complete, we will be sharing the combined results. While your individual responses, again, will remain anonymous, you will have chance to talk with your supervisor about the county-wide results as a way to discuss our workplace overall.

Because we are embarking on a new organizational and employee development plan this year, these conversations will replace most formal employee assessments for the year and, along with this survey, inform a shift away from "assessment" to "development", away from a focus on "areas of improvement" to "areas of achievement" .
