Floyd Hill broadband speed are not truly broadband speeds by the current FCC definition

I live on Floyd Hill and have had Century Link DSL for the past four years. The best plan I can get is 40 Mb/s down and 2 Mb/s up. I regularly check with all of the other companies that offer broadband here to see if they cover my house and what speed options they have. I have been on the StarLink wainting list for two years. I own my own business and work from home and the options available are insufficient for me to do mywork from home every day. As I am an adjunct faculty member at Colorado School of Mines, I often drive to Golden to upload or download large files as they would never complete at my home. The the speeds at the CSM campus are 900 MB/s down and 800 Mb/s up. I need faster download speeds and much faster upload speeds. I would prefer synchonous over asynchronous connections. I regularly email George Marlin any references I can find on possible funds for broadband improvements in the county.

The US Federal Communications Commission 2015 definition of broadband internet was 25 megabits down. My current speeds do not meet this definition based on upload speeds. My 40 Mb/s download speed often drops below the 25 Mb/s requirement as well. The 2023 definition is at least 100/20, although my preference would be 100/100. I would love faster download speeds but I need at least 50 for upload and preferably 100.
