Project Background

Clear Creek County is investing in planning for the DLD community. In late 2022, the County was awarded funding by Henderson Mine’s Social Impact program to conduct an $80K planning project to develop a community informed vision for the DLD region of the county in the form of a Subarea or Neighborhood Plan.

A Subarea Plan is a type of long-range guiding document that is prepared for a limited geographic area within a community and addresses both short and long-term needs.

This planning project will take place over most of 2024.

How can I Participate?

Community Participation has been robust and informed the current version. From here the best way to continue to participate is to read the latest version and if you wish to comment, to tune in to the November Planning Commission meeting, which will be virtual, by finding the agenda and joining link here.

Past Meetings & Engagement

Project Launch Meetings - The project launched with a research phase gathering basic information then a series of meetings to share that info and to learn about the community priorities.

Steering Committee Topic Deep Dives - The Steering Committee rolled up their sleeves and over three meetings, to learn and comment on the four main topics identified so far. See the Videos section at right for videos of the three Topic Deep Dive Meetings

Draft DLD Community Plan Report Review Process - By late June and July, the project had an initial Subarea Plan Outline with DRAFT Community Goals and Action Plans for each of the Key Topics.

• Early September - Virtual Public Meetings to review the initial DRAFT Clear Creek Subarea Plan for DLD
• September 17th - Planning Committee reviews initial Clear Creek DLD Subarea Plan for Adoption
• October 1st - BOCC to review Clear Creek DLD Subarea Plan for acceptance pending Planning Commission.
• Integrate comments and prepare a draft that is ready for possible adoption
• November 20th - Present the draft the Planning Commission for consideration for adoption
• December 10th - Present the Planning Commission recommendation to the BOCC
